☆Edo-Smell, Kagurazaka☆

As you know, Shinjuku is the busiest city. However, it also has a different aspect which you already have.

Kagurazaka, a part of Shinjuku city, is quite interesting because it has both faces of bustling and historic.

JR Iidabashi Station or Metro Kagurazaka Station is the nearest station. Once you get off a train, there is the main street, Kagurazaka street. Along with it, there are many shops, cafes, restaurants, and even a shrine.

I would rather say it is an ordinary shopping street.

However, if you wander into one of the narrow alleys, you may slip into the Edo Period.

This area was a popular entertainment place just outside of the outer moat of Edo Castle. There were so many restaurants with Gisha, who were entertainers.

Some of the restaurants still survive, and you will be able to catch a glimpse of the Edo Period.

Wooden black fences and gates are good rustic vibes, and stone pavements are nostalgic.

Actually, these pavements renewed recently. If you look at them closely, you can encounter the lucky piece like a heart-shaped or star-shaped one.

Do you want to explore mystic alleys, don't you?
