☆2nd day of the trip☆

After eating breakfast, we headed to Karuizawa Taliesin beside the lake Shiozawa, which includes the lake, museums, park, and historical buildings related to Karuizawa.

Taliesin, a Welsh word, means a shining forehead; an art fairy.

We first visited Raymond Jean Peynet Museum. Raymond was famous for romantic paintings with love and humour.

The museum building itself is also the masterpiece, which was designed and built by Antonin Raymond as his atelier and house in 1933. So we could enjoy both the building and the arts at the same time.

After that, we went to the English Rose Garden. It was a bit late season but some roses were very beautiful and cute. The smell was so good so that we took off masks a just some times because many people weren't there at that time.

After leaving the rose garden, we headed to another house called Suikyusou, which was designed and built by William Merrell Vories in 1931. It had a unique ventilation system provided people comfortable stays in all seasons, a huge living room, bedrooms, and a huge balcony with great views.

Walking around the lake made us refresh and we almost forgot about COVID-19 related things.

Finally, it's time to go back to the real world.

Wait! Before going back, we had lunch at Oginoya as always.

It had been a while, it was so delicious as always.
