It's been a while though, I'm writing a blog about something about Japan.
By the way, I re-united with my ex-co-worker since about 2 years ago.
We met and ate lunch at a restaurant near Tokyo Station, which is the biggest stations in Tokyo and Japan as well.
The lunch was so good and we had a long pleasant time together.
As for Tokyo Station, it is a huge station in the centre of Tokyo.
The building is so beautiful, nostalgic, and red-bricked. It is always on the bucket list in Tokyo sight-seeing.
The original building was built in 1914 which was also red-bricked. There were 3 main gates, the southern gate for entering, the northern gate for exiting, and the central gate for just Imperial family because there is the Imperial Palace in front of the gate.
This station was burned out in 1945 because of the Great Tokyo Air Raid.
It had been refurbished several times since then and a huge renovation was planed in 1999.
After finishing the renovation from 2007 to 2012, the Tokyo Sation was reborn.
This red-bricked style is only the western side of the station. The eastern side called "Yaesu" is completely different from the western side; modern and sophisticated. So it is very unique that the station has both faces. You can enjoy historical design and modern design in one place.
To be honest, I recommend the western side which is called "Marunouchi." There are also other historical buildings including the Imperial Palace on Marunouchi side.
If you have a chance to visit Tokyo, do not miss Tokyo Station!
